NASHVILLE, TN -- The No. 14 Railsplitters hit the road for the first test of the 2012-13 season away from Tex Turner Arena on Tuesday night, traveling to Trevecca Nazarene University and coming away with a commanding 73-52 victory over the Trojans.

Lincoln Memorial University moves to 3-0 on the season with the win, with all three victories coming by a margin of greater than 20 points. With the loss, TNU falls to 1-4 on the season.

The Railsplitters faced an early 2-0 deficit after a pair of free throws from JP Nyadaro at the 19:17 mark of the first half, but, LMU quickly responded with a three-point play from Cam Carden to take a 3-2 lead with 18:50 on the clock.

LMU never looked back as they would not trail for the remainder of the contest, extending that advantage to 19-6 with a trey from Wally Jones with 13:14 left in the first frame of play. The Railsplitters concluded the first stanza on a 7-0 rally, capped with a pair of free throws from Dustin Craig to head into the break with a 39-19 lead.

The Railsplitters fired at a 53.8% rate from the floor in the first half and held the Trojans to a 25% clip over that same span. For the game, LMU finished at 50% shooting from the field while TNU was limited to only 39.1%.

In the second frame, the 'Splitters would extend their lead to as many as 23 and never led by less than 12 en route to a dominating 73-52 victory over the Trojans in Nashville, Tennessee.

For the second-consecutive contest, four different players finished in double-figures in the scoring column for the Railsplitters, headlined by Jake Troyli's 19-point effort.

Dustin Craig notched the first double-double of the season for Lincoln Memorial with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Craig was a perfect 6-6 from the field along with a 4-7 mark from the charity stripe. Wally Jones narrowly missed joining Craig with a double-double, as he recorded 17 points and eight rebounds.

Cam Carden poured in 12 points paired with a game-leading five assists. CJ Wakeley tallied six points and Lorenza Ross got in on the act with three points to cap the scoring for LMU.

As a unit, the Railsplitters corralled 36 rebounds to only 21 for the Trojans.

Maliek Daniels paced the Trojans with a game-high 20 points to go along with a team-leading seven rebounds. JP Nyadaro was the only other scorer to notch double-figure scoring with 10 points in the affair.

The Railsplitters dominated the battle inside the paint, 34-20, and second-chance points, 11-3.

Lincoln Memorial returns to Tex Turner Arena for their next contest as they are set to host Hiwassee College for a nonconference match up on Saturday, November 24th. That game is slated to tip at 4 p.m. in Harrogate, Tennessee.
