The No. 4 Harlan County Black Bears will debut their brand new Coal Miners Memorial Stadium on Friday night in the Appalachian Wireless Game of the Week against top-ranked Bell County and stakes are high for both sides.

The Bobcats would like to hand the Black Bears their first loss on their home turf and Harlan County would like to end the Bobcats' infamous streak of no losses to a mountain school since 2006.

On Tuesday, when asked if he's mentioned the streak to his players, Black Bears head coach Tom Larkey had this to say:

"Well, we haven't, but I may start harping on that now (laughs)," says Larkey. "I'm sure they're over there harping about beating us on our field for the first game, too. But, everybody tries to spoil things and there's nothing wrong with that. But we have thought about that we'd definitely like to be the first one to do that."
