Patriot Ladies trip up against Trevecca Nazarene

WILLIAMSBURG - Ky. - The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women’s Basketball program came into Saturday’s game looking to improve their overall record on their way to celebrating Christmas in Hawaii. Unfortunately, the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene University (TNU) had other ideas.

The Patriots held a 25-24 lead at the break, but TNU came out with the hot hand in the 2nd half of the game as they finished the game shooting just over 42% on the day. The Trojans held UC to just 27% shooting from the floor as they Patriots fell to TNU by a score of 61-48.

Freshman Ashley Mullins (Totz, KY) led the Patriots with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the game. Dace Bicane (Riga, Latvia) also pitched in 9 points and 14 rebounds on the night. Jessica Upchurch (Stanford, KY) was also key in the game as she added 8 points and 9 rebounds.

The Patriots will be in action in Honolulu, Hawaii the week before Christmas as they will participate in the Malika Sports Hoop and Surf Classic. They will take on Doane College on December 19th while taking on Concordia University on December 20th.
