Patriot Ladies jump to 21st in the nation

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women’s Basketball team jumped up a few spots on Tuesday afternoon as the weekly NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll was announced. After a tough week of competition with a loss to the 4th ranked Tigers of Campbellsville University and a win over St. Catharine College, the Patriots find themselves ranked No. 21. Cumberlands currently posts a 15-8 overall record while going 9-4 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

Moving up from No. 23 last week, the Patriot ladies received 83 votes, placing them as the third MSC team on the prominent list. While Vanguard University remains at the top of the list this week, the MSC was well-represented once again with Campbellsville University at No. 4 and Georgetown College sitting at No. 8 for the second straight week.

Other notable teams which made the elite list which the Patriot ladies have battled this season included Oklahoma Baptist (No. 5), Columbia College (No. 12), and Bethel University (No. 18).

The Patriots will set out on the road as they face the Bears of Pikeville on Thursday evening. Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm.
