Patriot softball signs Hopf for 2013-2014

WILLIAMSBURG Ky. - The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Softball program is pleased to announce the signing of Ms. Laurel Hopf to their 2013-2014 roster.

Laurel will come to UC from Centerville, Ohio and is the daughter of Todd and Kristie Hopf. She attends Centerville High School where she will graduate this coming spring.

Hopf is known for her skills behind the plate at the catcher position. "I became acquainted with Coach Dean and the Patriot program when my older sister, who is a sophomore on the team, came for her first campus visit," said Laurel. "I fell in love with the beautiful campus and the players that I got the chance to meet through attending my sister's games. I knew this was the place for me to continue my softball career."

The Patriots Head Softball Coach Angie Dean added, "I am very excited about adding Laurel Hopf to our 2013-14 Patriot Softball Team. She is an extremely hard working catcher, who possesses great skill and has a great knowledge of the game. I believe she will bond with our current pitchers and I look forward to watching Laurel and her sister Kat work together."
