WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men’s Wrestling program is looking to build from last season where they had two individuals advance to the NAIA National Championship tournament. With numerous athletes returning for next season, the Patriots are looking to build around a solid class of underclassmen to ensure they make a mark in the NAIA next season. The Patriots are happy to announce the signing of Devin Morrow for the 2014-2015 season.
Morrow is a recent graduate of Wayne County High School (WCHS) in Monticello, KY. He is the 5th wrestler from Wayne County to come to the University of the Cumberlands. While his accomplishments on the mat are fantastic, Morrow also comes to UC with an excellent academic record as well, graduating from WCHS with a near perfect GPA. He is also a Governor’s Scholar and a recipient of the National High School Coaches Association Academic All-American Award.
When asked about joining UC, Devin commented, “It’s been one of my goals to wrestle at the next level. I’m really excited to be wrestling for University of the Cumberlands.”
UC Assistant Coach Fred Byars added, “We recruit student athletes, where the student comes first and their academics are most important. We want students that will provide us with a 100 percent graduation rate and Morrow fits the mold.”
