The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team only had one home game this past week as the Patriots opened up Mid-South Conference play against rival Lindsey-Wilson. The Patriots took yet again another win, 69-58, to remain undefeated for the season with a record of 7-0.
On Tuesday, November 21, Cumberlands hosted the Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson. The Patriots shot 44% from the field, 44% from behind the 3, and 73% from the foul line.
Zavion Neely (Chicago, IL) and Matt Daniel (Morehead, KY) each led the Patriots scoring 16 points apiece. Neely also had 7 rebounds, and 3 assists while Daniel contributed with 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.
In addition to the game, teammate Flynn Clayman (Los Angeles, CA) did the work on the boards with 9 rebounds. Along with the boards, Clayman tossed in an assist and two blocks, contributing to his 14 points for the Patriots. Patrico Leadon (Nassau Bahamas) added to the score with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
The Patriots will be back in action at home on Thursday, December 1st as they do battle with NAIA #1 University of Pikeville Bears. Cumberlands seven game winning streak sets up a showdown in Williamsburg on Thursday as the Patriots look to take the #1 spot from Pikeville. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 PM.
