Patriot Softball Earns MSC Honors

Several University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriot Softball members earned Mid-South Conference (MSC) awards given out at the annual banquet for their efforts during the 2012 season.

Patriot catcher Brittny Lovelace (Middletown, OH) was named to the MSC Second Team All-Conference for her outstanding performance on the field. Lovelace ended the 2012 season with a batting average of 0.333, leading the Patriots on offense with 21 runs scored, 53 hits, and a 0.428 slugging percentage.

Honors are also given at the MSC Annual Banquet for efforts in the classroom. The following Patriots received honors for their performance in the classroom while taking on the challenge of college athletics: Carrie Root (London, KY), Angela Steuer (Miamisburg, OH), and Erin Sears (Williamsburg, KY) were all named to the MSC Academic All-Conference Team. This honor is obtained by maintaining a 3.25 GPA as a student-athlete and being at or above a sophomore in status.
