The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women’s Basketball team has made an impressive mark not only in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) but at a national level as they’ve jumped 6 spots from #14 to #8 this week in the NAIA Top 25 poll. With an overall record of 14-1 and a 4-0 mark in the Mid-South Conference, the Patriots are making a strong case for a MSC Championship in 2011-2012.
As Oklahoma City University remains on top of the polls for yet another week, the Mid-South Conference continues to prove their dominant play as 4 other teams join the Patriots in the Top 25. Shawnee State comes in right behind the Patriots at #9 this week while Georgetown College moves up to #15. Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson also appear in the top 20 as they rank #18 and #20 respectively.
The Patriots have an important and exciting week of play ahead of them as they host Georgetown College who is currently ranked #1 in the Mid-South Conference polls, on Thursday night at 6:00 pm in the O. Wayne Rollins Center. The Patriots also take on Shawnee State who is ranked #3 in the Mid-South Conference on Saturday on their home floor at 2:00 pm.
