WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Football program is continuing its most successful season in the last 25 years as they moved to 8-0 last weekend after routing the Tigers of Campbellsville University 70-17. In their win, the Patriots truly were hitting on all cylinders and for their performance, one group was honored with another weekly award.
UC’s offensive line was named the BSN Offensive Line of the Week for the week of November 3rd. The Patriots offense was clicking and possibly was their most efficient on Saturday against Campbellsville. UC totaled 600 total yards of offense including 420 rushing yards on the day against the Tigers. Four different Patriots found the end zone with rushing touchdowns. Three different quarterbacks threw touchdowns to three different receivers in the game as well. The offensive line did their job the entire day as no UC quarterback was ever sacked in the game. They also continued to push the Tiger defense backwards all day as the Patriots earned 29 first downs in the ball game while running 72 offensive plays. UC also controlled the clock, holding onto possession for over 35 minutes of the game.
The Patriots look to continue with that momentum on Saturday as they will host Mid-South Conference East foe Kentucky Christian University for their Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 12:00 pm at James H. Taylor, II Stadium in Williamsburg.
