PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) -- Perry Central's Justin Johnson has just committed to Western Kentucky. The senior forward averaged 16 points per game last season and talked with WYMT Sports this afternoon.
"I finished with 46 Division I offers," Johnson said in an interview with WYMT Sports this afternoon. "I actually narrowed it down to five: Boston College, Miami of Ohio, Providence, Western Kentucky and Auburn. And I took three official visits. I went to Western, I went to Miami of Ohio and I went to Boston College. And it came down to Western Kentucky and Boston College, and I kind of decided last night that Western Kentucky would be the place I would be playing my college basketball."
"It's actually a lot less pressure," the senior forward who averaged 16 points per game last season said. "You know, when you still haven't decided where you're going to go, you try to go out every game and impress everybody. You got scouts and coaches in the stands, and you try to go out and do everything you can to win and do everything, you know, on the floor to make you look the best. And now, it's a relief because I know where I will be playing and I know I got a spot there at Western Kentucky, so I just got to go out and play my game and be more relaxed and just go with the flow of the game and play with my team."
