Pikeville Panthers tough schedule prepares team for playoff push

Posted: Thu 8:00 PM, Nov 08, 2012

After facing a tough early season schedule, the Pikeville Panthers find themselves playing in the second round of the Class 1A state playoffs.

The Panther will host the Raceland Rams Friday night, a rematch from earlier in the year. Head coach Chris McNamee says his team's tough schedule early in the season has prepared his team for this time of the year.

"It has, really. We had that tough stretch the first six ball games of the year and then we got into our district schedule and did what we wanted to do there -- get better each week," says Panthers head coach We had Paintsville in the first round and we feel like we've got a little momentum going into the playoffs and we know we've got a tough test on Friday night but I think our guys are ready for it."
