Earlier today, the WYMT sports department made a visit to Pineville before their season-opening matchup against North Laurel on Friday night. Head coach Bart Elam says that although his team may be outnumbered, both teams can only play eleven players on the field at once, and he likes his team's chances.
"Well, you know, at Pineville we take a lot of pride in being a small school," says Elam. "We can go play 1A teams and be doubled in numbers. That just happens with us so that's not a big thing where it makes us bug-eyed or anything like that so we're used to that. You know, we've still gotta understand that that's a disadvantage and we've got to be in shape and we've got to be tougher mentally to be in it in the fourth quarter."
