Prestonsburg will try to get back on track vs. Pike Central

The Prestonsburg Blackcats are coming off of a tough loss to No. 2 Belfry last week and now they're looking to rebound in the first of two meetings with the Pike Central Hawks on Friday night.

We caught up with Blackcats head coach John Derossett earlier this week and he knows how strong the Pike Central offense can be, which means his team cannot give the Hawks extra opportunities by turning the ball over.

"And then offensively, the last couple years, they've put up a lot of points against us," says Derossett. "They've got the (Wes) Pugh kid. He's outstanding. They've got a big line. They'll run the zone play. They'll throw it deep. They'll throw the quick screen so they're very good offensively, but I think just play a sound football game. That's what we look for all year is to play sound and we have yet to do that. We're sitting here at 2-2. So hopefully we can just not the turn the ball over and try to play some sound football."
