SEVIERVILLE, TN -- For the second-consecutive season, the Lincoln Memorial University baseball team will open their three-game South Atlantic Conference series with the Carson-Newman Eagles with a showdown at Smokies Park in Sevierville, Tennessee. The Railsplitters and Eagles are scheduled to duel in Smokies Park on Friday, March 29th at 7:15 pm.
Smokies Park is home to the Tennessee Smokies, the Double-A affiliates of the Chicago Cubs, and for the second-straight season it will be the host site of the series opener between the Railsplitters and Eagles. Last season, the Railsplitters overcame a 6-1 deficit, fighting back to square the game at eight apiece before Carson-Newman rallied for a run in the bottom of the ninth to take a walk-off win.
With a three-game series on tap with Brevard this weekend, the Railsplitters are currently sitting at 8-7 in the SAC and 13-15 overall. The Eagles are set to host Catawba in SAC play this weekend, and they head into that series at 9-6 in the conference standings and 13-15 all told.
The Railsplitters and Eagles will kick off their series-opening contest at Smokies Park at 7:15 pm on Friday, March 29th.
