Railsplitters Cruise Past Brevard, 84-43

HARROGATE, TN -- The sixth-ranked Railsplitters got back on track Wednesday evening with a dominant 84-43 victory over the Tornados of Brevard College. LMU moves to 16-1 on the season and 6-1 in the South Atlantic Conference with the win. Brevard College falls to 2-14 on the season and 1-6 in the SAC.

Twelve different players scored for the Railsplitters as they shot were an extremely efficient 63 percent from the field. Jake Troyli and Chance Jones led the effort with 12 points apiece. Vincent Bailey and Desmond Johnson added 10 points respectively.

The Railsplitters held Brevard College to 31 percent from the field while winning the rebounding battle by a margin of 40-24. Darius Moose was the lone double-digit score for the Tornados as he scored a game-high 14 points.

Jake Troyli set the tone for the game with a dunk to give the Railsplitters a 2-0 a minute into the game. Brevard answered by tying the game in their next possesion. A jumper by Vincent Bailey gave Lincoln Memorial the lead for good as they would never trail in the game.

A 12-2 run by the Railsplitters put them on top by a score of 16-4 with 12:39 remaining in the half. By the two-minute mark, LMU had run the lead out to 22 with a jumper by Justin Allen. Lincoln Memorial would completely dominate the first half of play as they took a 43-23 lead into the break.

By the second media timeout, the Railsplitters had implemented a 21-7 run to extend their lead to 64-30. The lead would continue to be pressed as Lincoln Memorial concluded a dazzling all-around performance with a 84-43 victory.

The Railsplitters return to the friendly confines of Tex Turner Arena on Saturday as they host the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne University. That game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
