HARROGATE, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial University men's basketball team continued their dominant start to the 2011-2012 season with a 104-47 victory over the Rams of Ohio Mid-Western College. With the win, the Railsplitters move
to 9-0 on the season.
Cam Carden led the Railsplitters with 20 points on 4-5 shooting from beyond the arc. Vincent Bailey added 14 points off the bench. Justin Allen and Wally Jones put in 13 and 10 points respectively. Tony Martin led LMU with nine boards on the night.
The Rams were led by Gene Primus' ten points as he was the lone double digit scorer on the evening for Ohio Mid-Western.
The Railsplitters shot out of the gate in the first half as they ran up a 21-2 lead with 15:24 remaining in the half. LMU never looked back in the lopsided first half of play. The Railsplitters continued to run up the score as they took a 61-11 lead into the break. The Railsplitters shot a dominating 69.7 percent while holding the Rams to 17.9 percent from the field in the half.
The second fell in much the same way as the Railsplitters expanded their lead to 57 which would fall as the final deficit. LMU captured the game by a score of 104-47.
The Railsplitters will take the floor again on Saturday, December 10th, as Glenville State travels to Harrogate, Tennessee for nonconference action.
