Last Friday, one coverage area wide receiver had a career game and he's only a freshman.

That's why our SYKES player of the week is Williamsburg’s Skyler Griffith.

In a 28-20 win over Allen Central Friday night, Griffith hauled in eight catches for 205-yards and two touchdowns and a 68-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Griffith says it's not just his honor, It took a total team effort to get the win...

“I have to say thanks to Dalton (Sizemore),” Griffith says. “He threw the ball up there to let me go get it. It starts all on the line. They did pretty good. They did good."

“He's had a very good start to the season this year,” Coach Jerry Herron says. “He's probably has about 700 yards receiving for the season. (He’s) caught several touchdowns. He's done some great things for us. He's had an unbelievable start to his freshman year offensively. It's one of the best starts of a receiver that we've had since I’ve been here."
