Kentucky running back Raymond Sanders will miss up to three weeks after undergoing surgery Thursday morning on his right knee. Coach Joker Phillips made the announcement after practice on Thursday.
Phillips said Sanders suffered the knee injury returning the second half kickof against Central Michigan.
Freshman tailback Josh Clemons will get the start for the Cats on Saturday against rival Louisville.
"It went well this morning," Phillips said of the surgery.
"It will give us an opportunity to see some of those other backs. We've been wanting to get them into the game, now we have to get them into the game," Phillips added.
Sanders had surgery this past summer on his left knee.
"He (Sanders) was playing good," Phillips said. "But the young back was playing good, also."
Kentucky hosts Louisville at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
