Second half scoring struggles doom UVa-Wise in loss to Bluefield

Bluefield, Va. - Bluefield College limited UVa-Wise to just 15 second half points en route to a 64-47 Mid-South victory on Thursday. The Rams used a 42-24 advantage on the glass and forced 23 Cavalier turnovers in claiming the victory.

In the loss, Chelsea Cluesman led all scorers with 18 points and Katie Jo Lester chipped in 12 points. The victorious Rams were led by 17 points from Ashley White who also grabbed five rebounds, handed out four assists, and collected four steals. Maryah Mazyck, 13, Teqa McNeal, 12, and Monique Robson, 11 all finished in double-digit scoring for Bluefield.

The loss drops the Cavs to 5-10 overall and 2-4 in Mid-South play. UVa-Wise will return to action next Thursday when Cumberland, Tenn. visits the Prior Center for a 6:00 p.m. tip.
