Strong says "no" to Tennessee

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Sports Illustrated is reporting that Louisville football coach Charlie Strong will remain at Louisville.

According to SI's story, Strong was offered the Tennessee job, but declined. He reportedly had only one meeting with Tennesse Chancellor Jimmy Cheek, Sunday in Louisville. Strong and U of L are working on a long-term extension, according to SI.

Tennessee is looking for a coach after Derek Dooley was fired days before playing Kentucky.

Strong is scheduled to hold an 8 a.m. news conference Thursday.
