Teater ties for fourth at the Canadian Open

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Josh Teater, who graduated from Morehead State in 2001, tied for fourth this past weekend at the Canadian Open. He shot 14-under-par in the Professional Golfers Association Tour event at Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Ancaster, Ontario.

Teater, who fired a 67-65-68-66—266, finished just three strokes back of the winner Scott Piercy. The four-round total was his best in 23 PGA Tour events this year.

A native of Danville, Ky., Teater has now posted top-10 finishes in two straight weekends. The previous weekend, he placed ninth in the True South Classic at the Annandale Golf Course in Madison, Miss.

Teater, who was recently inducted into the MSU Athletic Hall of Fame, is currently 99th in the FedExCup rankings with 431 points. The top 125 players qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs.
