MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Former Morehead State golfer Josh Teater turned in another top 25 finish on the PGA Tour this past weekend, finishing in a tie for 25th at the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
Teater fired an even-par 70 on the first day of the event last Thursday but then carded three straight under-par rounds to finish with a 70-66-69-66--271 for a nine-under-par total. He finished just nine strokes back of winner Webb Simpson.
With Teater's finish, he moved up seven spots in the PGA Tour FedEx Cup (the PGA Tour's point system) to 110th. If the regular season ended today, Teater would qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs as the top 125 players are entered into the playoffs.
Teater has now completed 27 tournaments in 2011 and has finished in the top 25 six times and in the top 10 once. He has earned more than $500,000 and currently ranks 15th on the PGA Tour in driving distance this year.
