LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Drew Barker, one of the top players in the country in the class of 2014 and according to some the best player in Kentucky will play his college football at Kentucky
The 6-4 inch junior made the announcement in front of a packed house at Connor High School. Barker is rated a 4-star recruit in the class of 2014. He reportedly had at least 20 scholarship offers before making his decision today.
As a junior, he completed 140 of 225 passes (62.2 percent) for 2,067 yards and 22 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. In addition, he rushed for 1,422 yards and 18 tds, averaging 6.5 yards per carry all while leading Connor to a 9-3 record.
According to family members, even though they're huge UK fans, Kentucky wasn't even in the picture until Stoops and Neal Brown got to town. Just about every recruiting analyst has credited this staff for the ground they've made up just to get into position to be a finalist with Barker.
