The Cavs opened the contest on a 16-5 run over the first nine minutes of the game but, the Saints answered with a 27-12 run to head into the locker room in front 32-28. Limestone used its defense to take the lead by forcing 20 first half turnovers; despite the turnovers, the Cavs remained close due to a 12-40 shooting performance by the Saints in the first half.

Limestone’s run continued into the second half as the Saints built a 20 point lead mid-way through the final stanza. UVa-Wise would make a run to cut the lead to 13 but that was as close as the host could get as Limestone responded with a 6-0 run to put the game out of reach.
