PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Winners of two ITC (Intercollegiate Team Championship) Championships, the University of Pikeville women’s bowling team has had plenty of success. But KT Simpson had one of the best individual performances in 2013-14, capturing ITC Most Valuable Player and Mid-South Conference Player of the Year honors in the same season.
The sophomore from Boise, Idaho’s accolades come in at No. 5 in UPIKE’s Top-10 Moments of 2013-14.
Simpson was the first national MVP since Ashley Galante took the honor in 2008. She also earned a spot on the ITC All-Tournament Team and was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the Bowling Coaches Association.
Apart from her success on the lanes, Simpson was also on the Academic All-MSC list. UPIKE finished the season strong, making its second straight appearance in the ITC finals where it lost to Robert Morris (Ill.).
