UPike volleyball hosts Shawnee State on Thursday at 6:30pm

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville volleyball team looks to snap a three-game skid, hosting Shawnee State (Ohio) at 6:30 p.m. ET on Thursday at the UPIKE Gym.

Pike TV is streaming the match, while live stats are also available on the NAIA DakStats page.

This is the second meeting between the programs that share the Bears nickname, as Shawnee State won 3-1 earlier this month in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Shawnee State has had a rough stretch of matches as well, losing its last four, including a 3-0 loss at St. Catharine (Ky.) in its most recent outing.

UPIKE is currently ninth in the Mid-South Conference standings with a 2-10 record, while Shawnee State is sixth at 5-6. With just six MSC matches left, each one becomes equally important as Pikeville seeks qualification for the MSC Tournament.

Only the top eight teams in the 10-team league advance to the postseason.

Sydney Hall continues to lead the Bears in kills with 194 and blocks with 58, while Dominique Melvin has collected a team-best 338 digs and Sydney Morris has dished out a team-leading 601 assists and 31 aces.
