UPike’s Richardson returns as MSC football award winner

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville's Nu'Keese Richardson is the Mid-South Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The weekly conference honor is Richardson’s second of the season, both being recognized for his play as a punt returner on special teams.

Richardson returned a punt for a touchdown in UPIKE's 56-38 win over Union (Ky.) on Saturday.

The Pahokee, Fla., junior wide receiver ended the day averaging 21.3 yards per punt return, including taking his second return 65 yards for a score.

It was Richardson's third punt return for a touchdown this season.
Richardson is second in the MSC and fourth in the NAIA averaging 16.1 yards per punt return.

His three punt return touchdowns lead the conference.

With the win, Pikeville ended its season at 7-4 overall and 3-3 in the MSC East Division.
