Wise, Virginia - The UVa-Wise men's and women's basketball teams will open up the Mid-South portion of the 2011-2012 season on Saturday when the Cavaliers host the visiting Bears of Shawnee State.

The doubleheader is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. as the UVa-Wise women's basketball team will take on the fourth ranked team in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll. The game will be the home opener for the women and will be the first women's basketball game to ever occur in the newly constructed Convocation Center.

Game two of the day will feature the men's basketball team taking on a Shawnee State team that is currently 3-1; the Bears will be riding a two game winning streak into the conference opener.

Fans attending the game are encouraged to wear red; the game will be "Red Out Day" as fans will paint the Convocation Center red in support of the Cavs. As always, the games can be seen live on www.uvawisecavs.com
