ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Lindsey Waters of Union (Ky.) is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the third week in a row Waters received this award.
Waters helped paced No. 18 Lady Bulldogs to win over Tennessee Temple and Emmanuel (Ga.). Union is 9-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
The 6-foot-1 center from Stearns, Ky., posted her sixth and seventh double-doubles last week. She went 15-for-15 from the foul line against Emmanuel while scoring 27 points and grabbing 20 rebounds. Waters also had eight blocked shots on the week with five coming against Emmanuel.
On the year, Waters leads the AAC in scoring (21.3 points), rebounding (11.8) and blocks (2.91). She ranks second in NAIA Division II in rebounds per game and total blocks (32) and ranks sixth in points per game.
