Posted: 11/05/2012 - WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women’s Basketball team began their season with a tough battle on the road Saturday night against the NAIA #21 ranked Cougars of Columbia College. With tough nosed team defense along with clutch free-throw shooting in the final minutes, the Patriot ladies held on for the season-opening victory 70-65. Although the final minutes were a battle of “who wanted it more”, the Patriots led most of the game with the largest lead of 15 points coming early in the second half.
