Woodson Named AT&T All-America Player Of The Week

Posted: 09/20/2007 - College football fans across the nation have made their voices heard and chosen this season’s third recipient of the AT&T All-America Player of the Week award, the only major college football award chosen exclusively by fans. University of Kentucky senior quarterback André Woodson claimed the honor today after going 30 for 44 with 275 yards and four touchdowns in Kentucky’s stunning last-second upset of then No. 9 Louisville. Woodson received 48 percent of the votes to beat out University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow (27 percent), Michigan running back Mike Hart (17 percent) and Wisconsin running back P.J. Hill (8 percent).

Posted: 09/17/2007 - For a victory three decades in the making, Kentucky coach Rich Brooks didn't let his players spend too much time celebrating Saturday's 40-34 upset of Louisville. Save for a brief emotional speech during practice on Sunday in which he congratulated the Wildcats on becoming the first Kentucky team in 30 years to beat a Top 10 opponent, Brooks remained his pragmatic self, even on the same day the Wildcats cracked the Associated Press poll for the first time since 1985.

Woodson Named SEC Offensive Player Of The Week

Posted: 09/17/2007 - Kentucky quarterback Andre Woodson has been named the Southeastern Conference's offensive player of the week. Woodson completed 30 of 44 passes for 275 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in Kentucky's upset of Louisville on Saturday. One of Woodson's completions was a 57-yard touchdown to Steve Johnson with 28 seconds left to put the Wildcats ahead for good.
