UK Men’s golf to compete in first tournament of 2014

Posted: 02/16/2014 - With the winter break in the rear view mirror, the University of Kentucky men’s golf team is set to begin the spring season at the two-day, 54-hole Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in Mobile, Ala., beginning Monday, Feb. 17 and ending Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Mobile Bay Intercollegiate marks the first of five spring tournaments before the SEC Championship and NCAA Tournament.

Although Cumberlands lead the majority of the game, it wasn’t enough to hold onto the victory, as the Patriots fell 76-71 on the road. With the loss, the Patriot ladies move to 15-9 overall and 9-5 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

Lincoln Memorial University (19-2, 15-2 SAC) clung to its three-game lead in the SAC standings with Saturday's win, topping Lenoir-Rhyne (11-10, 10-7 SAC) for the eighth-straight time since 2011.
