BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Bell County High School student Cody Ferguson is another one of our scholarship winners.

Bell County High School senior Cody Ferguson stays busy in the classroom taking several AP classes. Outside of class, he is involved in Beta and Key Clubs, and plays tennis and basketball.

"It's been great, all four years. It's the best time of my life," he said.

Ferguson is a leader on and off the court.

"I do whatever I can to help the team. I don't know what else to do," he said.

His leadership skills in the classroom and on the basketball team earned him a Mountain Classic Committee Leadership Scholarship.

"I was surprised, really surprised. I just thought it was great," he said.

He plans to attend college next year, most likely at EKU. He wants to study occupational therapy and says this scholarship will help.

"It will help a lot," he said.

For now he is savoring the rest his final months of high school.

"A bunch of great memories, great friends to last a lifetime," he said.

Teachers believe his leadership skills will help him succeed after graduation.

The scholarships were handed out last week during the WYMT Whayne Supply Mountain Classic.
