Fans cheer on their teams at the Mountain Classic

The 25th Annual WYMT Whayne Supply Mountain Basketball Classic tournament kicked off Tuesday night with the first two games.

One of those games went down to the final second!

"We are always really excited to get out there and play new teams, and it's just a really good experience," said Belfry cheerleader M'Kayla Hughes.

Fans packed the gymnasium to cheer on their teams.

"Just hoping to get the win, just gotta take it one game at a time," said Knott County Patriot fan Kalim Caudill.

All of the fans came here with same goal in mind. They want their team to be in the championship game Saturday night.

Hazard pulled off the upset and beat the Harlan County Black Bears with a last second 3-pointer.

"Breathtaking, I was holding my breath, it was great," said Hazard fan Jeff Roberts.

The Knott County Patriots later got the easy win over the Belfry Pirates.

"So excited. We have never won one, but we think this year is the year," said Caudill.

The teams will continue to battle this week until only two are left standing in Saturday night's championship game.
