High school basketball preview: Jackson Co. Lady Generals

MCKEE Ky. (WYMT) - We continue on with our DQ Grill and Chill countdown to tip-off series as we take a look at the Jackson County Lady Generals.

The Lady Generals welcome in a new coach this season as Robert Lakes takes over the program. This team finished the 2012 with a 5-23 record and one of the biggest things they are looking for this season is consistency.

"These girls, I tell them, they are going to be like the pioneers", said head coach Robert Lakes. "They are going to be the ones going ahead, and hopefully we can win games this year. That is, obviously, that is our goal, to win. But more importantly we want to set the tone this year."

"We are a young team, and so little, so we are not going to win every game. We want to win them, and we are going to have to work on it. They are going to have to mature more, and it's just a work in progress", said Lady General junior forward Shelby Madden.

"We are using last year as a building block for this year. And, hopefully things will go a lot better this year", said Lady General senior guard Brianna Rose.

The Lady Generals tip off their season on November 26th at Lee County.
