Snow allowed only five hits and three runs while striking out two over that span. The Lady Railsplitters responded in the bottom of that inning, as they sparked a two-out rally of their own. Amanda Snow set the stage with a double, while Sarah Walz walked and Kirstin Toole was hit by a pitch to load the bases. With the bases chucked, Laura Taricano cleared the way with a two-out grand slam to plate all four runs and give LMU a 4-2 lead.

Lincoln Memorial threatened to add more runs in the bottom of the second following lead off singles from Jordyn Wilson and Kelly Dreier, however, a sacrifice bunt and two-straight pop outs stifled that scoring opportunity to keep LMU atop the board at 4-2. The Lady Railsplitters would add another run in the bottom of the fourth, as Sarah Walz drew a bases-loaded walk to push the lead to 5-2.
