BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - On Friday the Kentucky-Tennessee Border Bowl committee held its first ever high school combine, and in attendance to offer advice was former New England Patriot and Super Bowl champion Marty Moore.
Moore played linebacker at the University of Kentucky before being drafted in 1994, and offered advice that was off the topic of football. He says education is just as important.
"I think the biggest advice you can give a high school athlete today is make sure you get your education. Make sure you're there to study in the classroom," says Moore, who was a member of the New England Patriots when they won Super Bowl XXXVI." As much as we want to talk about football and athletics, it's just a tool that may help them go beyond their high school years and further their athletic career, but at some point in their life, they're going to have to have their education to fall back on, make sure you take that serious now."
