Napier wins No. 794, becomes winningest coach in Kentucky girls basketball

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Randy Napier now sits alone atop the Kentucky high school girls basketball all-time wins list.

With Perry Central's 85-51 win Wednesday night over 14th Region opponent Jackson City, Napier now has 794 career wins, one more than former Marshall County head coach Howard Beth.

Napier began coaching at M.C. Napier High School in Perry County during the 1981-82 season, and took the coaching job at Perry County Central when the school opened in 1994.

He has won nine regional championships and one state championship, leading the M.C. Napier Lady Navajos to the Sweet 16 title in 1994.
