WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women’s Bowling program has had a stellar season in their inaugural year. They are two tournaments away from finishing out the season, but are sitting in a spot where many would have never pegged them to be. The Mid-South Conference (MSC) has released the final standings for the regular season, and the Patriot ladies have finished in 2nd place with a 12-6 record.
The Patriot ladies sit behind the dominant University of Pikeville, who claimed 1st place. Bethel University finished in 3rd while Campbellsville University finished in 4th. St. Catherine College finishes the regular season 5th while Union College and Lindsey Wilson College rounded out the rankings in 6th and 7th place respectively.
“The women’s team has had an amazing first season,” Head Coach Kevin Reigle commented. “For a group of five freshmen to come out and finish second in the conference is incredible. This is a great group of ladies and they are a great representation of the University. I’m so thankful to have such a great administration here that believed in us from the start.”
The Patriot ladies enter the upcoming MSC tournament with a #2 seed. The tournament will begin on February 21st and will be held in Louisville, KY at Ken-Bowl Lanes.
