HARROGATE, TN - The dates for the 'Splitter Youth Baseball Camp are quickly approaching and spots are still available, Lincoln Memorial University head baseball coach Jeff Sziksai announced on Tuesday morning.
The 'Splitter Youth Baseball Camp is set to be held from Monday, June 17th until Thursday, June 20th on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University and Lamar Hennon Field. Children ranging from age five to 12 are invited to attend the camp, which will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on each day of the four-day camp.
These particular camps are designed to teach youth players the fundamental aspects of the game of baseball, such as proper throwing and catching technique, infield and outfield play, pitching and hitting. In addition to work on the basics of the game, campers will be treated to daily swimming pool access. Each day will also conclude with a live game on Lamar Hennon Field, home of the Railsplitters.
Campers should bring a glove, bat, spikes/cleats, hat, batting gloves, bathing suit and a towel, however, essential baseball equipment can be provided by the camp staff.
The 'Splitter Youth Baseball Camp costs $100, a $20 discount, if registration occurs by Monday, June 10th. After June 10th, the cost is $120. Camp fees include a full lunch (daily), a camp t-shirt, instruction from the LMU coaching staff and players, game play, contests, and swimming in the LMU pool facility.
