Patriot Ladies thrill in Senior Day with last-second victory

Posted: 02/22/2014 - The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women’s Basketball team demonstrated poise and excellence on Saturday afternoon in front of a packed house at the O. Wayne Rollins Center. Facing the Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College on Senior Day, the Patriots were able to bounce back from a second-half 11 point deficit to sneak away with a 69-67 victory on a last second basket by Julie Haye (Polo, IL). With the win, Cumberlands moves to 18-9 overall and 12-5 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

UC softball drops two against Indiana Wesleyan

Posted: 02/22/2014 - The University of the Cumberlands’ (UC) softball team hit the road on Friday to take on Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) in Barbourville at Union College due to unplayable field conditions in Williamsburg. The Patriot ladies played two tough games, but were ultimately defeated by the Wildcats with final scores of 8-5 in game one and 8-4 in game two.

The Bulldogs pounded the Wildcats in game one of the double-dip, 13-7, on Saturday at Union Field.
