I’ve been everywhere, and that’s an understatement. It’s been a long road that has brought me where I am today, but each and every mile helped shape the man I am now.
I was raised in the Hardburly community of Perry County where I was a big brother to my sister Kayla and my brother Nick. My Dad made his living in the coal mines of Eastern Kentucky and my Mom was a nurse here at the Hazard ARH. I was blessed with a really close family and I thank God for every minute that I have the opportunity to spend with them.
In 2005 I graduated from Perry County Central where I was a member of the band and the captain of the academic team. After graduating, I was off to pursue a music degree and see where my talents in that area could take me. I spent a year in that program, but I had some doubts about that career path so I returned to Perry County where I enrolled at Hazard Community College and entered the professional world. It took a handful of jobs and a lot of classes, but I was finally starting to see the big picture. I enrolled at Alice Lloyd College and worked on the side as a sports writer before I was asked to come on at WYMT as an assignment editor and web producer. I am excited about the opportunity to work for a company that serves my home community the way WYMT has done for so many years.
On July 11, 2009, I married my best friend, Tiffany. We currently reside in Cornettsville, Ky with our dog Scooter. Tiffany teaches school at Buckhorn High School and we both regularly attend Service at Frontline Ministries, where I’m an ordained minister and worship leader.
I don’t have a lot of spare time, but I like to spend what little bit I have playing music or watching sports. If you’re ever in Hazard on a Friday night during football season you will probably see me in the stands at Commodore Stadium. I’ve not missed a Perry Central home football game since 1999!
