MIAMI (AP) - The first tropical storm of the eastern Pacific hurricane season has formed off the coast of Mexico.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Tropical Storm Alvin could become a hurricane in several days but isn't a threat to land right now.
It has top winds of about 45 mph and is centered 700 miles south of Manzanillo, Mexico.
