Storms are spreading over Kentucky and forecasters caution that the weather system pushing them is slowing down.
The National Weather Service has also issued a tornado watch for
an area from the Tennessee border to north of Lexington. The area
is roughly from south of Bowling Green northeastward through
Frankfort and Lexington, then southward to west of Somerset.
The storms could produce enough rainfall that small streams
could rise quickly and street flooding could occur.
As the storms cross Kentucky, they'll usher in a cold front that
will drop temperatures, which have been above normal during the
past week The front will cool the weather so that by the weekend,
many spots won't reach 60 degrees.
A wind advisory is posted for much of central and eastern
Kentucky.
