LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Some automated campaign phone calls have
been going out to Kentucky households but nobody is owning up to
them.

The calls in question that went out yesterday claim to be an
endorsement of Democratic candidate Steve Beshear by the
"homosexual lobby."

The calls direct people to visit the Web site of the Fairness
Campaign, an advocacy group for gay, lesbian, bisexual and
trans-gendered individuals.

The Fairness Campaign's political action committee has endorsed
Beshear but the group says it had nothing to do with the calls.

Governor Fletcher told reporters he wasn't aware of any such
calls.

Governor Fletcher had terrible ratings from Unions, Animal Rights and Wildlife, Arts and Humanities, National Taxpayers Union, Taxpayers for Common Sense, Public Citizens Congress Watch, Consumer Federation, Humans rights, Civil Rights, NAACP, ACLU, LULAC, National Education Association, and the League of Conservation Voters. The high marks he got were from business interests and right to life groups. He's a corporate conservative who clearly works for his campaign contributors more than his actual constituents. He gets big money from healthcare organizations and the real estate and financial lobbies. That means he's willing to insure that you have crap healthcare and predatory lending in order to see to it that he has campaign money. Good riddance.

it really doesnt matter who gets elected, they do what they want or what the money tells them to do anyway.

If not for the Democrats support for gay and lesbian rights, seems to me that the republicans wouldn't have any rights. Why do all the republicans that claim to be "conservative" wind up being caught up in a sex scandal with either a minor or a gay person?

All of the scandal involving hiring practices, that the democrats have used to smear Fletcher, is nothing more than what they themselves have done in all the years they controlled the State House. A republican in past years would have been hard pressed to get a job with state connections. Sorry about Debbie's sour grapes... sometimes you have to eat'em.

I am sure Fletcher is " not aware" of anything pertaining to the calls in question. His recent statement that he would not "remove the Ten Commandments from schools" shows his ability to turn words to his purpose. You can not remove that which is not present, can you? I would be willing to bet that he is "not aware" simply because he does not know whether or not the plan has beem implemented. A suggestion made by a staffer that is given tacit acknowledgement does not have to be owned up to as something he himself decided to do. It is all a game of words and it is time we started paying closer attention to what is said!

God bless democrats like Debbie! Proving once again they are aimlessly guided to the cattle call. I didn't know that a guy named "Brashears" was even running. Speaking of scandals; check out the insurance debacle. the Democratic candidate STEVE BESHEAR was in the thick of it. Oh blind cattle, please quit your incessant mooing, as you are led to slaughter. Open your eyes, delve into the subjects; lest ye continue to vote based on shallow headlines. Look at where your state is fiscally now versus 4 years ago. that doesn't matter I suppose as long as you get your free cheese.

Always negative campaings, negative everything has come from republicans since the beginning of this campaign. Every ad has began by dissing the opponent. Shame on you people! Phone calls? No I would imagine that Fletcher wouldn't know anything about a phone ca..! Would you actually expect him to say..hey, I made those phone calls cause I can't win unless I get the people against Brashears. I don't think so! That is the way he has always run his campaigns. Scandels, trouble, always negativity from Fletcher. What makes us think it would change now?
