A father and son in Breathitt County are lucky to walk away with minor injuries after their coal truck bed hits an electrical wire.

Witnesses say 21 year old Michael Brewer was pressure washing his dad's coal truck in Lost Creek when his father, Reed Brewer, got into the truck and turned the key to start the truck with the PTO switch on. Officials say that made the truck bed rise up and hit the electrical wire from above.

Witnesses say they saw sparks everywhere.

"When I come around the truck to go get Michael, the one that got shocked, he had fell down on the ground and it sparked again and knocked him down again," said Witness Josh Miller.

First responders say Michael Brewer received only minor burns on his hands.

We're told Reed Brewer jumped out of the coal truck, and he was not hurt.

How often does this happen? I have heard of this once before. There should be some sorta of a switch for safety required on all trucks with lifts.
