Police say they expect a Leslie County man to plead guilty in an animal abuse case.
Authorities say David Miniard managed his family farm in the Cutshin area of Leslie County. They claim he neglected close to a dozen of horses and four of them died.
Leslie County Sheriff Paul Howard says Miniard turned himself in after authorities served the Leslie County man with a subpoena. Howard says Miniard will be in court March 11th and he expects Miniard to plead guilty to charges relating to the incident.

I was born and raised in leslie co. its hard for me to belive anyone can be so cold and cruel to a animal. ther is no excuse for him he should pay the price put him in a cold dark cell with no food and water. and the mother of his child making excusses for him should think about keeping her child away from him. insted of making excusses for him what gives with that.

I am the mother of the only child Miniard has. Some of those horses belonged to my son and I know they were well cared for.One of thoses horses is 17yrs old, born the same yr as my son.Suppose how that horse has lived that long with the abuse and neglect he is accused of.If u tell it, tell it all, and be honest. The man's barn is bigger than his house people! His "wife" is NOT actually his wife, nor owner of the horses,BUT she did care for those horses for Miniard because he works 6-7days a week.Bet theres alot of u out there that claim u would do so much better would love to have the pasture this man has for them to graze with also.Miniard's woman has been with him over half her life, she's a good woman, and has been an excellent stepmother to my child.I wonder why none of the other animals on this family farm were found in no danger?A guilty "plea" doesnt always mean a person is guilty.
