An eastern Kentucky family is mourning after a two-year-old was killed in a house fire.

The fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon in the Kimper community of Pike County.

Officials say two-year-old Patrick Pinion was in the home with his mother and four-year-old brother when the fire broke out.

The mother and four-year-old made it to safety, but lost Patrick as they were trying to get out of the burning home.

Firefighters found him under a bed in his bedroom.

Fire officials do not suspect foul play. They continue to investigate how the fire started.
