It's been more than six years since a young Floyd County man vanished. Police say there's no signs that Paul Aaron Triplett is still alive, but they can't prove he's dead either. Triplett's mom believes her only son was murdered.
Paul Aaron Triplett's mother says her 20 year old son was last seen in early January, 2002 around Alice Lloyd College in Knott County with his girlfriend. He never returned to his home in Wayland.
"We have no information that would lead us to believe foul play has occurred. Also we don't rule that out," said Tony Watts with the Kentucky State Police.
A search by helicopter in the area he was last seen revealed nothing. His truck was later found in a parking lot at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, but there was no sign of Triplett.
"We need to be able to get some fresh leads in this and some fresh information to see if we can't get the ball rolling and maybe find the whereabouts of this individual," Watts said.
Triplett's mother and other family members believe Aaron was murdered and believe the person that did it is dead.
"He's behind this guy's house under cement. I'm just about 100 percent sure," said Jan Patterson.
Patterson admits she can't prove anything, but police say they're convinced someone knows the truth.
"We want your information only and maybe we can help this family get some closure. Hopefully he would be found alive and well, we really don't know, but we would like to help this family find their loved one," Watts said.
Triplett's mother has a message for anyone that could help police solve the case.
"Please come forward and end my suffering so I can know what happened to my son," she said.

I don't understand, if someone overheard a converstion about this, why wasn't that checked out by the police? Did they even bother to find out if this dead person even knew Aaron, I really feel sorry for his family, it would be hard enough to lose a child, but not knowing anything would drive me crazy. God bless them and I hope they get the closure they need to go on with their lives.
